Dr Alison Pittard, Faculty Dean to be awarded OBE
Dr Alison Pittard, Faculty Dean to be awarded OBE.
The Faculty is delighted to report that our Dean, Dr Alison Pittard has been awarded an OBE in the Queen's Birthday Honours List. Dr Pittard has demonstrated exemplary national leadership for Intensive Care Medicine and co-operative working during the pandemic with Royal Colleges, NHS organisations, media and the public, in a way that is unprecedented for intensive care and previously uncommon across most medical specialties.
As a Faculty we are proud of Dr Pittard’s hard work and her dedication to medicine. To see her recognised as a very worthy recipient of an OBE is truly fantastic.
"I am thrilled to be awarded an OBE. It is such an unexpected honour and one that I will work to uphold the standards of by continuing to champion the fantastic work we do in Intensive Care Medicine in the UK. On a more personal note, a lovely reason to pop open some prosecco."
