The UK Consultant Intensivist Transition (CIT) course will be held in Cardiff on the 15 & 16 May 2025.

This course is designed specifically for senior resident intensivists within the last couple of years of training or new consultant intensivists in the first few years of their consultant appointment.

People doing portfolio pathway to a CESR are also equally welcome. The course will provide a very good opportunity to network with fellow delegates and the Faculty. It is a course run by experienced intensivists for those wanting to ease their own transition from being a senior resident to becoming a new consultant with a balanced career and avoid some common pitfalls.

Aims:

The first few years of being a consultant intensivist can be difficult. People are well educated and trained but there are some areas such as interacting with colleagues, other specialities, medico-legal areas, medical ethics, job planning and appraisal, where we believe this course can help ease those difficulties in transition to being a consultant.

Faculty:

We have a Faculty coming from England, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales. The Faculty are experienced consultants. The ratio of Faculty to Delegates is high to ensure time and ready access to ask questions, interact and learn.

Venue:

The Course is in the centre of Cardiff which has excellent rail links. For those wanting to have some time off before or after the course there is excellent access to the Welsh Coast (Gower) or the Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons National Park).

Fee: £400, £470
