The Faculty of Intensive Care Medicine curriculum requires intensive care doctors to initiate, perform, interpret, understand, and integrate radiological investigations with clinical presentations to manage critically unwell patients. In this series, six talks - focused on thoracic, trauma, abdominal, and cranial radiological imaging, as well as point-of-care ultrasounds - will be given by distinguished specialist speakers to enable participants to gain a thorough understanding on broad radiological topics that cover the Faculty of Intensive Care Medicine curriculum.

Day 1 focus

  • Give participants the opportunity to understand point of care ultrasound, including its role in neuro-intensive care.
  • Learn how to interpret abdominal radiology and relate this to intensive care medicine.
  • Provide participants with the skills and knowledge to interpret and understand cardiac ultrasound and cranial doppler and how it is used in managing critically unwell patients.

Day 2 focus

  • Understand and learn how to interpret radiology relevant to neuro-radiology, trauma radiology and cardio-thoracic radiology.
  • Relate radiology findings to critically unwell patients and intensive care medicine.
