Release for work for the wider NHS

The Department of Health & Social Care, the Academy of Medical Royal Colleges, the General Medical Council, the NHS and devolved administrations have written to NHS organisations across the UK asking them to continue to look favourably on requests from doctors seeking support to undertake national or regional work for the wider benefit of the public and of health services across England and the devolved administrations.

It is hoped that the letter will be helpful to clinicians at local level.
