Use of Generative AI in ICM Training and Revalidation
As the use of generative AI tools (such as ChatGPT, Gemini and Claude) is becoming increasingly common in education and professional development, the Faculty has published interim guidance on how these tools can be used appropriately within ICM training, CESR applications, and revalidation.
This guidance sets out clear expectations for doctors using AI to support activities like reflective writing, portfolio submissions, and continuing professional development. It encourages responsible use of AI tools while emphasising the importance of authenticity, integrity, and personal clinical insight.
While national guidance from the GMC is still under development, this aims to ensure fairness and clarity for all intensivists engaging with training and assessment.
