Welcome to the Faculty of Intensive Care Medicine
The Faculty is the professional and statutory body for the specialty of intensive care medicine, the doctors who lead critical care services and Advanced Critical Care Practitioners, and includes Critical Care Pharmacists as members.
The Faculty works on behalf of its members and our wider services to promote education and standards, influence and define national policy, and, most importantly, improve outcomes for our patients and their families.

Work is about to begin on Version 3 of the Guidelines for the Provision of Intensive Care Services (GPICS), and we are recruiting Section Editors and a Diversity and Inclusivity Lead to join the newly created GPICS Editorial Board.
While matters relating to terms and conditions of service are not within the remit of individual medical royal colleges or faculties, we recognise the right of doctors and other healthcare professionals to take industrial action, and we understand why many may wish to do so
