Ninety minutes into treatment, further results are available. CT imaging of the patient’s head, thorax, abdomen, and pelvis including angiogram of the aorta are unremarkable. Albumin is 30 g/L. A repeat ABG (room air) shows: pH 6.99, PaO2 10.5 kPa, PaCO2 3.8 kPa, Na+ 131 mmol/L, K+ 4.0 mmol/L, Cl- 92 mmol/L, glucose 9.8 mmol/L, lactate 14.0 mmol/L, BE -23.3, HCO3- 6.7 mmol/L.
