What investigations would you consider in this patient?

Bloods tests: 

  • Blood glucose 

  • Serum ketones 

  • Serum electrolytes 

  • Venous blood gas 

  • Full blood count 

  • Renal function test 

Consider a septic screen (infection may be a precipitant) e.g. blood, urine, respiratory sample 

Consider a chest radiograph (if clinically indicated) 

12 lead ECG
